Howdy all!

Well, since my last indepth blog in Feb 09 I have been scoring waves in Bali, Yallingup, Peth metro & South Africa in August which was great.

Bali had small but fun beachies on offer at the usual haunts and looking forward to heading back Oct this year. Perth metro was quite good over winter (hey, for Perth anyway!) with some fun banks around and down south (Yallingup/Margaret River) had some solid swells amongst the more reliable fun beachies & reef options.

South Africa was a really short trip with 5 days  focussed on the coast south of Durban scoring some incredibly fun, long, sand bottom point right handers with not a soul around (except for Frankie Oberholzer & his buddy the hammerhead @ Green Point who was ripping!)

Caught up with photog Kelly Cestari (fulltime ASP shooter) who took some great shots unfortunately just after the best day of the trip (no, honestly..) bummer but thats the way it crumbles! Had a lot of fun in Durban surfing the piers and drinking at Joe Kool's (one of the best & busiest Sunday sessions I have ever experienced...)

Had a fun 1 hr try on Flow Rider @ one of the biggest shopping centres in the world (strange joint) I couldn't help but pick up Siouxsie & The Banshees/Creatures playing throughout the shopping centre which meant they are either still (yet again) stuck in a time warp or are actually on top of the 80's revival kick.....

Anyway, a busy year ahead travel wise with Rottnest Island, Sydney, Europe, Bali & Tassie all squashed in there somehow, nothing like travel....

On the sponsorship front I am stoked to have secured a new sunglass sponsor in Smith Optics & new clothing sponsor in Deus Ex Machina. Deus are based in Syndey & have a fresh angle to the industry coming from a retro motorbike & bicycle background, cool bunch of guys. Smith are obvously a well respected optical company & a great crew there also.

Both great companies who I hope to have a long association with, cheers to the guys @ Smith & Deus!
